Whether from in the audience or on stage, watching the screen or sitting in the pews, this is a chronicle of performances that I experience in the District of Columbia and around the country.

My ears! My ears!
Ack! Il Divo is on the Today show right now singing "Can't Live If Living Is without You" and sounding like an old car trying to start on a cold morning needing to be shot to be put out of its misery.
Welcome to The Arts in the Nation's Capital, a journey through the performing arts in Washington, D.C., and beyond!
These are my reviews, thoughts, commentary, and musings about the various performances I see, plus news and gossip related to the arts.
Did you see the same show? Do you agree with me? Do you disagree? Please post your comments! I love civil discussion of the arts, as two intelligent people can see the very same show and come away with completely different opinions.
A former college professor now living and working in the Nation's Capital, Sing! Dance! Act! has sung, danced, and acted on stage and screen both professionally and amateurly, developing a critical eye for what goes on in the arts. While his areas of particular expertise include opera, ballet, and church music, he appreciates the full range of the arts and is more than happy to offer his opinions.
